Heat Exchanger Fouling & Mitigation Course

7th – 8th August 2008, Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Bangkok

Heat exchanger is a device built for efficient heat transfer from one medium to another, whether the media are separated by a solid wall so that they never mix, or the media are in direct contact.

Fouling is the formation of deposits on the heat transfer surfaces. It is one of the main problems in the design and operation of heat exchangers in industries. The inefficiency of heat transfer resulting from fouling has a direct link to excess fuel consumption in the process.

Understand the mechanisms of deposit formation in heat exchangers and the available methods to reduce or eliminate these highly unwanted phenomena.

13th European Biosolids and Organic Resources Conference, Exhibition and Workshop

10-12th November 2008, The Lancashire County Cricket Club, Manchester, UK

www.european-biosolids.com

Now in its thirteenth year, the annual European Biosolids and Organic Resources Conference continues to attract technical papers covering a wide range of topical areas and delivered by speakers recognised nationally and internationally for their expertise in this area.

As a result it is consistently attended by a large and knowledgeable audience who debate and discuss the issues of the day in a learned and welcoming environment. Once again potential Authors have the opportunity to submit Abstracts for presentation on topics of interest to the biosolids and organic resources community.

They are particularly keen to encourage submissions from younger practitioners and those new to the biosolids arena and thus have made the submission process as simple as possible.

The deadline for submitting an abstract is 30th June 2008. Abstracts should give an overview of the intended paper comprising of approximately 250 words.

Please submit to Frances at franceseldon@aquaenviro.co.uk

Increasing Public Confidence in the Recycling of Organic Resources

February 2009, London

This is the first SORP Annual Conference to be organised by Aqua Enviro.

Its aims are:

  • to review the public perception of recycling organic material to land
  • to establish the barriers to such use that are perceived to exist
  • to consider the scientific justification, if any,

for such perception to recommend ways in which steps might be taken to deal with negative views
