Hot Rot - Bekon Anaerobic Digestion Process

HotRot partner, BEKON®, has an Anaerobic Digester technology which is reported to deliver both wet and dry Biogas technologies and has been doing so for over six years.

The feed used is kerb separated domestic kitchen and green waste, and more recently farm waste and bio-crops have been used as the feedstock.

“Dry” fermentation is used to process the organic waste and generate heat and power from municipal or other similar wastes, whereas their “wet” fermentation technology is employed for liquid and renewable crop based materials.

The system has been described as being characterised by its robustness, bankability, suitability for dryer waste streams and low parasitic load.

Both technologies sit comfortably with each other and with the HotRot In Vessel Composting (IVC) ~ either alone or in tandem.
